Renal Dialysis Volunteers

Renal Dialysis Volunteers provide support and assistance to patients during their dialysis at AHS.

Duties include:

• provide companionship and support to patients and their relatives
• assist patients in setting up their chair or bed side tables
• assist patient with completing menus or other forms that may need filling out
• make tea/coffee for relatives or patients during morning / afternoon tea times (if given consent by Dialysis nurse)
• set patients up for meals
• deliver phone messages to patients
• keep area tidy
• read to patients (for example books, newspapers).
