Armadale Hospital is experiencing a remarkable baby boom, with a record 262 babies born at the hospital in August.
The surge in births comes as Armadale Health Service continues to provide maternity care to families across Perth’s south-east, with about 2,400 babies born at the hospital each year.
Armadale Health Service Senior Executive Alicia Thompson said the August figure was a record for the hospital, with birth numbers expected to climb even further in September.
September has historically been Armadale Hospital’s busiest month for births, with numbers forecast to increase by around 65 per cent compared with August.
“Armadale's baby boom is at a rate much higher than the rest of the State at the moment," Alicia said.
"We’re getting all of the babies."
