Children spending Book Week at Armadale Hospital received a special delivery of stories to help brighten their stay.
The hospital’s paediatric patients were gifted a collection of preloved books, giving young patients the chance to escape into a favourite story while receiving care.
The books were donated to the hospital and distributed to children during Book Week, bringing a little extra joy to their hospital experience.
For children unable to celebrate Book Week at school, the delivery offered a chance to still dress up, pick a favourite story and enjoy the magic of reading - right from their hospital bed.
Armadale Kalamunda Group executive director Sarah-Louise Laing, City of Armadale mayor Ruth Butterfield and Paediatric and neonatal nurse unit manager Kristy Flood were among those taking part in this year's festivities.
This year's Book Week theme was ‘Symphony of Stories’.
Children’s Book Week has been in existence since 1945.
It remains one of Australia’s longest‑running celebrations of children’s literature and encourages reading, creativity, and engagement with books in schools, libraries, and in the home.
