Renal Dialysis Unit

The Armadale Renal Dialysis Unit provides hemodialysis treatment to patients with end stage chronic kidney disease (CKD) requiring renal replacement therapy.

The unit, located on the first floor on Gallier’s wing, caters for renal patients under the care of the Armadale Health Service’s Renal Consultant.

Patients who are under the care of consultants from tertiary hospitals and reside in the Armadale catchment areas are also able to access the service with a referral from their consultant.

Patients undergoing dialysis are seated on recliner chairs that can be adjusted to your individual comfort. An overhead TV fitted with a remote control handset and head phones is available above each chair.

A full-time Renal Nurse Practitioner provides clinical management of patients and a part time Renal Physician provides an onsite and also consultation liaison service to the unit as well as outpatient clinics.

The unit is staffed by nurses who are fully trained in providing renal nursing care.

A limited number of designated parking bays close to the Gallier’s wing entrance have been reserved for dialysis patients issued with special parking permits by the unit.

Renal dialysis unit takes pride in the patient centred care offered to the patients, with comprehensive services closer to their homes. It also has an active clinical research profile.
