Shining a spotlight on nurses and midwives
For the first time ever, the Armadale Kalamunda Group (AKG) rolled out the red carpet to celebrate the extraordinary efforts and achievements of its nurses and midwives.
The inaugural Nursing and Midwifery Awards, held at Armadale Hospital, shone a well-deserved spotlight on the tireless work and compassion these professionals bring to their roles every single day.
For AKG Executive Director Alisha Thompson, the awards were deeply meaningful.
“It was incredibly moving to see so many passionate professionals recognised for the work they do every day,” Alisha said.
"Presenting the very first EMHS Midwife of the Year award to Shannon Scari is a moment I will never forget," she said.
“AKG has always been a place close to my heart, and the awards reminded me of the warmth and resilience that make our health service so exceptional."
As Master of Ceremonies, Russell Colyer-Cockburn, AKG Director of Nursing & Midwifery, reflected on the energy and atmosphere at the event.
"These awards are about celebrating the spirit, skill, and ingenuity of our hospitals’ nurses and midwives," he said.
"The perseverance and care our staff bring to every shift deserve to be recognised. This is the start of a tradition that will honour their incredible work for years to come," Russell added.
