The Armadale Renal Dialysis Unit provides hemodialysis treatment to patients with end stage Chronic Kidney Disease requiring renal replacement therapy. The unit is located on the first floor on the Galliers wing of the health service. This is a 10-chair unit providing hemodialysis for 40 patients.
There is a drop off point at the Galliers ground floor entrance, designated parking bays close to the entrance are reserved for driving patients with special parking permits issued by the unit. Patients at the unit are seated in recliner chairs with remote control devices for their comfort. The unit is open planned with individual overhead TVs fitted with remote control handsets and head phones.

The unit mainly caters for renal patients under the care of the Armadale Renal Consultant. Patients who are under consultants from tertiary hospitals and reside in the Armadale catchment areas are also able to access the service with a referral from their consultant. The unit uses Fresenius machines with the most up to date technology. All nursing staff are fully trained in providing renal nursing care. There is a full time Renal Nurse Practitioner providing clinical management and a part time Renal Physician providing consultation service to the unit as well as outpatient clinics.
The unit is open from Mondays to Saturdays from 6:30 am to 7:00 pm. |

There are four time groups comprising of: Monday+Wednesday+Friday morning and afternoon, Tuesday+Thursday+Saturday morning and afternoon. All visitors are welcome to stay in the unit with the patients with the reminder that children be under supervision.
