Benson ward is a 32 bed acute medical ward, admitting a wide range of medical specialties including:

Multidisciplinary care is provided by Physicians teams, General Practitioners, Nursing, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dieticians, Speech Therapists and Social Workers. Our multidisciplinary team of health professionals work with the patient and their family in providing an excellent standard of hospital care and facilitating a safe discharge.
Discharge
On admission to hospital, you may be visited by one of our Discharge Coordination team to assist you in leaving hospital in a safe and timely manner. If you anticipate any difficulties in returning home, please ask to speak with one of the team.
Your estimated discharge date is calculated on arrival to hospital and we will work with you to be able to discharge you on that date. We try to aim for a discharge time of 10.00am, so please arrange for someone to be available to collect you at this time. If there are any problems with this, we are happy to try to make different arrangements with you.
The Visiting hours for all Hospital wards and Maternity areas (Maud Bellas & Bickley) are 8.00am to 1.00pm and 3.00pm to 8.00pm.everyday. Patient rest period is between 1.00pm and 3.00pm everyday.
There is a maximum of 3 visitors per patient at anyone time unless other arrangements are made with the Ward Staff.
