A school assignment on healthcare has led to a gift of new books for children recovering in the Armadale Health Service (AHS) paediatric ward.

Taj Wisewould, a Year 6 student at John Wollaston Anglican Community School, said he was tasked with a project that had to result in positive action towards the community.

“My family had a personal experience with hospitals and I wanted to know what more could be done to assist our health services,” Taj said.

As part of the project, Taj met with the Member for Darling Range Tony Simpson MLA to discuss his concerns and to learn more about various issues affecting hospitals.

In return, Mr Simpson provided Taj with a set of new children’s books that he donated to the hospital.

AHS Paediatric Ward Clinical Nurse Specialist Sue Williams thanked Taj for his contribution and thoughtfulness.
