Recognised for HR excellence

Armadale Health Service (AHS) Human Resources (HR) Manager Michael Morton was recently recognised across WA Health after being named the winner of the Peter Baldwin Memorial Award for excellence in HR services.

Mr Morton, who coordinated HR operations at Royal Perth Hospital for 16 years before joining AHS this year, was acknowledged for his contribution to the development of employees and for providing a positive example for professional behaviour in the workplace.

“I am truly honoured and humbled to be recognised amongst my peers,” Mr Morton said.

“HR plays an important role in the building of sound and sustainable relationships between the hospital and employees which in turn contributes to the delivery of improved services to meet the health needs of the community.”

About the Peter Baldwin Memorial Award

The Peter Baldwin Memorial Award values the contribution made by Peter Baldwin during his time at WA Health, and his dedication and passion to the provision of a professional Human Resources service.

The Award is presented each year to an individual demonstrating the same qualities as those displayed by Peter Baldwin. These include: 

  • contributing to the development of employees 
  • demonstrating empathy for employees 
  • being an exemplar for professional behaviour in the workplace through their excellent interpersonal skills 
  • contributing to the delivery of service outcomes within WA Health.
