Providing safer antenatal care

Women can now conveniently access safer and more coordinated antenatal care at Armadale Health Service (AHS) following the relocation of a range of maternity services into one location.

AHS Midwifery Manager Robyn Rigby said the co-location of hospital and GP antenatal clinics, Midwifery Group Practice (MGP) and the Boodjari Yorgas service in the onsite Community Health and Development Centre will improve communication between teams leading to more coordinated care.

“This is part of our aim to provide a collaborative maternity service and to provide women with access to a seamless service across the continuum of care,” Robyn said.

The co-location of all antenatal clinic services and MGP was part of a recommendation from a Statewide Obstetric Support Unit review conducted in 2016 into maternity services at AHS.
